20 Weeks!

Sorry for the few days of delay, but here we are officially at 20 weeks! It is weird thinking that at 20 weeks I was half way through my pregnancy and now Landon is 20 weeks!

He has been such an amazing little boy the last few weeks with all the moving stuff!  Now that we are in our house in Virginia, we are trying to settle back into a routine.  I feel he hasn't been napping well the past week since we have had movers, loaders, car rides, errands to get stuff that we need until the rest of our stuff gets here this week.  He still takes between 1.5-2 hour naps twice a day if we are home.  Yesterday, we let him sleep for 3 hours and then woke him up before we went to dinner.  We are having to figure out how the time change works with bed time and slowly adjust him back an hour so we are putting him down at 7:30, not 8:30 like we have been.  I think each day I will just move it back 10-15 minutes until we get back to 7:30 as his new normal.

We are having a bit of a tough time getting settled in Virginia.  Between the extra dirty house (we know it's dirty, even if Logan comments on it) and the bug issue...it is not feeling much like home!   We are trying to get the owners to cover both a cleaning service and an initial bug treatment, but so far we aren't having much luck even talking with the property manager.  There are also other things in the house that need to be fixed and I am guessing we won't have an easy time with that either.

The area itself seems very nice, it's just unfortunate our house is a bit of a dump.  We really like the layout and it would be perfect if the owners/previous tenants had kept it up.

I will leave you with a few pictures from our drive!

Until next week!  Next week will be fun since he will be trying out his first solid foods today!  =)

19 Weeks

Our wee little man is 19 weeks!  This is his last week in the teens!

We have been insanely busy this week, so there isn't much to update on!

We are currently listening to the packers move and tape boxes packing our little life! It is so interesting to see what the house looks like with all of our stuff in boxes and off the walls.  I will try to take some pictures of the rooms tonight after they leave as it stands after the first day!

This week Landon you:
  • Have learned to screech in a high voice so we sound like we are living with a huge bird...let me tell you it is super funny, but rather annoying ha ha.

  • Found your feet last weekend and since then you have been in heaven having your own play toy on your body!  Every time I change your diaper it is a challenge to get you to let go of your feet!

  • Are getting better and better at sitting up, we work on it every day! I think you are going to be so pleased once you can do it by yourself!

  • Tummy time is still your least favorite, but you put up with it especially now that you have been working on your rolling! I put you down there and you just generally roll on over....so not a lot of tummy time happening for you! It is like you say ha Mom...look I can just roll on over and I don't have to do any of this crap on my tummy =).
  • We think you are working on getting some teeth! You have been kind of cranky in the afternoons and early evenings.  You chew on your hands and pretty much anything we put in front of you.  You really enjoy my knuckles since they are more firm than your chubby little hand!
  • Are still doing a great job at night! You still go to bed around 7:30, although if you are super fussy I put you down a bit early.  The last two nights you have slept until closer to 5 AM...so I think we are making progress! You still wake up between 7:30-8:30 AM, most days.  There is the occasional day you wake up at 6 AM and I leave you to talk to yourself in your room and you eventually go back to sleep without much fuss involved!
  • Are still doing great with napping, at least at home.  Napping while we are out is actually becoming more difficult since you refuse to go to sleep and stay asleep if I get you out of the car.  So that is going to be a challenge will all this moving business going on! Either way-I am still so proud of your napping for 1.5-2 hours for at least two naps a day!
  • Are now a professional splasher in the bathtub and still love bath time so much! Will try to get a video in the next few days!
  • You have been rolling more the last few days.  My favorite (and most disgusting) memory of you rolling was you burped and puked and then promptly rolled over ha ha...it was amusing!
Until next week-our first post from Virginia!

18 Weeks!

Our little man is officially just over 4 months old! I feel like the last four months have flown by.  Logan and I were looking at the pictures from when Landon was born and we both agree it seemed like a life time ago.  The first month was a giant blur.  I can barely remember much of it besides being in pain.  The second month brings sad memories of an upset Landon because of his colic and reflux.  The third month our happy little man began to appear with full smiles, the departure of his colic, and his rolling, and now here we are in month four! I can't wait to see what this month will bring with him.  He is already so much fun, I can't imagine what joy he will bring to our lives this month!

Landon this week:
  • You started sleeping in your own room! We kicked you out last Friday and it was probably the best decision we have made in regards to your sleep since we brought you home! The first night you went to sleep in your own room (still in your Rock n' Play) and only woke up at 3:30 to eat and then slept until 7:45.  We were shocked! So far you have kept up this trend and are sleeping like a champ in your own room!  We find the key to your sleep is the constant rain sounds and a super dark room!  I think between your Dad and Rusty, they were keeping you up at night.  We are working on weaning your last night feeding so we can hopefully officially have a sleeping through the night baby.  My body thanks you for actually going back to sleeping better than you have ever =).
  • You have also started taking 1.5-2.5 hour long naps! The first few times you did this, once again in your room, I thought it was a fluke!  Now when you get a bit cranky and start to whine, I scoop you up, put you in your sleep suit, turn on the white noise, close your blinds, and tell you it is nap time and that I love you, put you in your bed, a few good night kisses, and walk out of the room.  95% of the time you are asleep within a few minutes! Once again...shocking turn around from our only 30 minute napper!  You don't even like to sleep in your swing anymore, so you have made some big changes in the past week!
  • You also had your four month Dr. appointment this week!  You weighed in at 16 lbs 7 oz (80%), 24.5 inches long (30%), and your head is the 40th %.  So to all of those who think your head is big....wrong lol.  I think it is those cheeks that make you look like you have a big head!  The Dr. said you are doing wonderfully.  She gave us the go ahead for solid foods, but we are going to wait until you are closer to 5 months and we are in Virginia to start.  We want to make sure we are settled and not having any more drastic changes before we start anything new with you! We are skipping the rice and oatmeal and going straight to the veggies and fruit, although the Dr. did say we should give you some oatmeal around 6 months to make sure you aren't allergic to grains/oats.

  • You visited your friend Carson again this past week!  You look pretty big next to him, but he looks to be not too much shorter than you! Sorry you are kind of shrimpy, thanks to Mommy!

  • You went swimming again this past weekend but the pool was much colder and you were not so impressed.  So here is a picture of you post swimming in a much happier mood!

  •  Your Daddy left again this week to move to Virginia! We are left here for the next two weeks to tie up the loose ends here in Tennessee! We are trying desperately to get our house rented.  We had a person come look yesterday, so we will see if they come back! Fingers crossed.  In addition to trying to rent the house, we are working on getting everything ready for the movers.  You have been very patient about not getting a ton of attention while Mommy runs around the house cleaning and organizing things.  Here you are yesterday in your little seat, but with a new twist. Anything you can grab you love these days!

Naked boys! Logan's last day home before he left.

Finally, I leave you with a video of trying to get Landon to laugh! Once again-I apologize because of how DUMB I sound, but he apparently likes to laugh at my cost lol...

 Until next week!

17 weeks!

This week Landon is 17 weeks old! That means in two days we have a four month old! That also means in a few weeks last year at this time we found out about our wee little baby! It amazes me how fast time goes.

I am on my phone doing this since our Internet is out, so this might be kind of short!

This week Landon you:

Have continues to be a crappy sleeper. We had a few good nights but you have now started waking back up after I nurse you back to sleep. So be prepared little dude, once we get settled in Virginia and we get you used to your own room and crib, the sleep training begins. This Mommy really could use a full nights sleep and so could you!  You have regressed on being able to put your self to sleep and back to sleep.  You seem to either need some sort of movement or to nurse....not really ideal.  Naps are still a challenge unless you sleep in the swing.  Some days I just give in because I am too tired to fight you to go to sleep for 45 minutes, for you only to sleep for 30!

The cloth diapers are on their way! We took the plunge and ordered twelve of the Bum genius elemental all in ones! I am super excited, your Dad may feel otherwise after watching his reaction to washing out his first poopy diaper and continually saying I wasn't prepared for this ha ha. We still need to get a toilette sprayer since I am convinced you have toxic poop and it stains the diaper if we don't wash it off before the wash! Thank goodness for the awesome power of the sun to bleach It back to white! We are also going to put up a clothes line once we move also!! We might just have to wait until Gigi and Aunt Rere come to help us ha ha!

You hit another major milestone just today! You rolled from back to belly, now you are not safe on any surface! I have a few pictures of this one, but still no video!

We have also visited your little friends in the past few weeks. You look like a giant compared to Carson and Holden but those little ones are on your tail already weighing in at 11 pounds at 5 weeks!

You also started riding in the big stroller for short walks! You are getting so big I can hardly believe it! Don't worry, I move the big cover and make sure he isn't in the sun when we walk!

You are slowly out growing your swing and are looking a tad ridiculous in it, but you still love it. We do have to buckle you in now because you are so squirmy! I am hoping we can get another month or so out of it, but we shall see! I know the weight limit doesn't come until 25 lbs, which is standard for most swings!

Here is one movie I took this week of trying to make Landon show off his new gurgle sound!

Until next week!

16 Weeks!

We are just moving right along over here in Tennessee.  We are still in waiting mode about moving.  No more bites on our house; I don't know what we will do if this thing doesn't rent before we move.  We have decided Logan is going to go up to VA in about a week and a half and find us a place to live.  Landon, the animals, and I will head up toward the end of June we are thinking.  That means I am left here to deal with cancelling all our services and dealing with the movers! Thank goodness my Dad is planning on coming out to help us with that.  I am not looking forward to traveling with Rusty, two cats, and then 3 humans in a car for 12 hours...should be interesting.

I am going to try to do something new with talking about Landon this week...we are going to try bullet points!

Landon, this week you:
  • Rolled over for the first time! I was so proud of you since you hate tummy time so much.  You didn't even get frustrated in order to do it, so it was rather shocking!  I still think you like to roll over for Daddy more than me, since he gets you to do it more frequently than me.  We are still working on getting pictures of this!
  • You are now back to eating every 2.5-3 hours.  Our 3 hour scheduled held up great through CO, but you must be doing something in that little body that has our sleeping and eating routine all mixed up.
  • You had another first, you woke me up every hour last night starting at 11:45 until 9 AM when I finally let us get up.  Like I said, I am not sure if you are hitting your four month wakeful period, but I would greatly appreciate it if you would go back to your 7-9 hour stretches. I can even handle getting up at 5,6, and 7...if you sleep your first long stretch!
  • We are back to cloth diapering you this week.  We still only have 3, but have decided once we move to Virginia to get another 12, for a total of 15.  We will then supplement with disposable diapers if we are going out in public for a long time or spending an over night somewhere!
  • You went to the Dr. on Tuesday for a medicine check since your reflux was getting a bit out of control and you seemed to be in more pain with it lately.  They upped your dose to 1.5 mL twice a day.  We also got some eye ointment in order to help get rid of your clogged ducts.  After only 2 days, your eyes look so much better.  Let's hope they are gone for good and not just temporarily, which I guess can happen!
  • We asked about your napping, or lack there of! She said that some babies just nap in 30-45 minute spurts and that you will eventually grow into taking longer naps. They said generally around 6 months. So we will see what you want to do =).
  • The last and most exciting thing for you that you learned this week was how to splash in the tub during bath time.  Gone are the nice relaxing, wind you down bath, for bedtime.  Now we are in the midst of full on playing and splashing in the tub.  It makes you rather difficult to wash with you squirming all over the place! I do have a video of this so enjoy!

Here is just one picture of Landon this week! We haven't been doing much, so not alot of pictures!
Logan thinks he is starting to look like Yoda! Poor kid lol...
 Until next week!

15 Weeks!

Landon is just about 3.5 months old now, crazy right.  We had so much fun in Colorado visiting everyone, but we are all pretty exhausted.  Our wee traveling man was not pleased about the car ride on the last day of driving and proceeded to vocalize this pretty much the entire day unless he was eating (bottle) or sleeping.  Regardless, we all survived and it was a great trip!

Here are a few pictures from the trip:

As you can see we had a busy trip! Landon was a trooper most days, but he had his down days a few days as well.  I don't blame the poor little dude, he was a busy guy compared to our daily life in Clarksville.

Landon is just moving along in life.  In the past week, he thinks he would like to sit up and tries to flex his stomach to sit himself up while laying down.  He often keeps his legs up by his stomach now, which I am assuming means he will start reaching for his feet soon.  He still only naps 30-45 minutes, regardless of where we are at...Gigi's, Nana's, the swing, car seat.  I have come to a realization this is JUST how he is for the time being.  Maybe in the future, he will begin to take longer naps. We have him on a pretty good little schedule with eating every 3 hours, getting up between 7-8 in the morning and going back down just about every 90 minutes for his short cat naps.  The time change has thrown us off a little bit with the bed time schedule, so over the next few days we will be working on getting him back to bed at 7:30.  Overall, I am very pleased how he did the entire time we were gone and just how sociable he is! Must take after his Dad ha ha =).

We have a busy month coming up with renting our house (HOPEFULLY-the other offer fell through), finding a place in Virginia to rent, moving, and then getting settled.  I am trying not to think about it until next week since I am still in Vacation mode!

Until next week =).

14 Weeks!

So we are on our way to CO but I wanted to post something for this week.  We are in the hotel and Landon is sleeping next to our bed at his new bed time, 7:30.  After we get back from CO, I will talk a little bit about what I changed in his schedule that seems to have said goodbye to his colic behavior once and for all!

Any who, Landon has done AMAZING so far on our drive to CO.  We are staying over night in Lawrence, KS at the Hampton Inn.  Very nice hotel and perfect size room for our little family of three.  Here is a picture of Landon in the back seat just chilling playing with his toy:

After we ordered dinner to the hotel, we decided we would take Mr. Landon swimming for the first time.  We aren't sure what he really thought of it, but he didn't cry and just seemed indifferent about the whole experience.  We didn't dunk him since the swimming pool seemed to have a lot of chemicals just by the looks of it.  As I was walking him around in the water, I noticed he was starting to fart so we got out before he could poop and ruin the pool for everyone ha ha.   We then just sat with him on our lap next to the hot tub and took turns sitting all the way in!

Here is a video of his first time swimming and a couple of pictures as well!

Someone's fat belly already out grew his swim shirt! All ready for the next size up lol...

We are rolling out of here bright and early tomorrow around 7 am and are planning on meeting Provi and his little family for breakfast in the morning at Cracker Barrel in Riley, KS.   It is another 9.5 hour drive tomorrow, so we will see what time we end up getting in.

Landon had a big first in the past week, he finally laughed out loud and it was so cute!  I can't wait for him to do it more.

We are REALLY looking forward to everyone meeting Landon this next week.  Stay tuned for several fun pictures of family and everyone meeting our little man.

We are still not much further in the house renting process (ours or one in Virginia).  I am just trying to step back from that for now and enjoy our trip home before the stress of moving kicks in!

=)
