New House: The building has started!!

We made a nice trip up the new house yesterday to see if any progress had been made since the last time we stopped by! To our surprise they have already broken ground and started laying the foundations of the house! So I am assuming by the time we get back from Colorado they will be framing!

Here are the exciting pictures from the house this week!

I really like how far apart the houses are!

75 Weeks!

The little man has had a rough week...which of course has now occurred after I said he was doing so well!  He picked up an awesome case of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease from somewhere out in Williamsburg.  I know other Mom's who have been dealing with it also in their house, so it is pretty prevalent. He woke up Thursday morning acting fine. We went to a beach playgroup where he was just out of it. He looked tired and then started to shiver, so we left right away. I took him temperature when we got home and it was 102.  So I called the Dr. after his nap and it didn't go down at all with any medicine. They recommended rotating Tylenol and Ibuprofen for 24 hours and see how it does and to give him a bath.  Both of those things helped and it did go down to about 100.  The next day he started to get a diaper rash (or so I thought) so I called the Dr. back and he said to text him a picture after nap time.  Well he called back pretty quickly and said it was the classic rash from Hand, foot, and mouth disease.  He said he would be highly contagious for 3-5 days and then contagious for up to 7-10 days after.  So we are pretty home bound this week unfortunately for us. Landon does NOT do well at home so we have had a long week so far.  Today marks 7 days that he has had it so hopefully in a few more days all the blisters on his feet, hands, and bottom will be gone and he will be good to go for Colorado!

Since we have been stuck at home or not having any play dates we have been finding things to do around the house, going on walks, or just running quick errands if we need something.

Landon has a new obsession-Elmo....or Elma as Landon says.  We have several Elmo apps on the phone and ipad...as well as a few Elmo DVDs we checked out from the library.  He has recently started carrying his little Elmo around the house and taking him to bed with him...so we may have a new lovey situation on our hands.  I have been trying to get him to take one so when we wean him from a pacifier it won't be as brutal.

Here are the weekly pictures and videos!

Breakfast with Elmo

Climbing where he shouldn't be-he got stuck while I was showering and this is how I found him

He is a major cuddlebug lately and would sit on my lap all day if I let him

Staying home all day means destroying the living room

It also means breaking the rules and feeding Rusty puffs
I have two movies to share this week!

See everyone on Monday =)

House update-Week ??

So things are FINALLY coming together on our house.

Last Monday we had our pre-construction meeting! They told us they would start construction on the house in about 2 weeks! So of course when we are in Colorado. They promised to take pictures and text them to us since we won't be around to take pictures! We met the two project managers, Zach and Josh.  They are incharge of all the homes in the neighborhood so we will be in contact with them alot.  They were pretty awesome and said they liked us and we woudl get an extra special house ha ha...a housing joke, who would have thought.  Let's hope we do get an extra special house! We went over all our selections and got to ask a million little questions.  We did have some bad news about the yard and where they can sod, but we are told they are working with the county in order to get sod all the way back to the property line in the backyard.   I am so excited it is finally getting started.  So it turns out the house will actually be ready in October which is WAY too early for us.  So we are currently battling to get a closing date that will allow us to not double pay a mortgage and rent! No one wants to do that as we so awfully remember from last summer.

After our pre-construction meeting we were able to walk through the almost finished Palermo on the street. It is about 5 houses up from ours. It is the opposite floor layout of ours, but we got to see a bonus room! Logan fell in love which was what I was hoping for! He is already imagining layouts and where to put the projector and put his visions for chairs/couches...he must think we are made of money =).

We don't have a closet in our room so this will just be a flat wall.

The other important house thing that happened this week was we finally locked on our mortgage rate.  We still aren't pleased with how this worked out, but we finally decided to lock at a rate that we knew we could afford and not risk the rates going higher if we chose to wait to lock at 60 days instead of 150 days like we did.  Our current rate lock will take us to early December which should be more than enough time to close.  If rates are much lower after the beginning of the year we may consider refinancing to lower our payment if that makes sense.  This whole part of house building has been stressful, but at least we know what our payment will be now and don't have to worry about it anymore!

Ok-hopefully the next update we will have some pictures of the house!

74 Weeks!

The little man turned 17 months a few days ago! Hard to believe next month he will be a year and a half! We have had a good last few weeks. He has been much more agreeable with listening and alot less screaming...thank goodness!

His newest tricks involve climbing on everything. He even learned to climb out of his crib.  I thought it was lowered all the way, but turns out I had one level to go.   Yesterday I was just about to go get him up when I heard a huge crash and him start crying.  I ran into his room to find him standing in the middle of his room crying! I think it scared him pretty bad so he has yet to try again. I made sure to get him up as soon as I heard him today! So far he hasn't tried again! Let's hope he forgot he even did it!

His language is exploding the past few weeks.  He signs constantly and babbles away. Yesterday we hear him say head, Lola, and doggie just randomly.  It is amazing how quickly he learns stuff.

He has started picking up on the small things of the house like laundry, dishes, cleaning, putting away clean clothes, where dirty diapers go, etc.  He is super 'helpful' in putting clothes into the dirty clothes. He also likes to throw away his applesauce pouch when he claims he is 'done'.  Currently, I am battling him throwing clean cloth diapers into the dirty disposable trash can! He also throws other random things in there.  I can ask him to go pick out his clothes and he will get me shorts and usually something else! He is super 'helpful' these days!

We have been doing our usual routine-walks, parks, Busch Gardens, beach, swimming (which he hates).  At Busch Gardens he started riding the rides this past week and he did so well! The rule at Busch Gardens for kids rides is as long as they can walk they can ride the majority either alone or with me on some.  No crying and he even smiled on alot of them! I was pretty impressed and am excited to take Logan back with us so they can ride together!

Here are the pictures from the week:

Lunch at the airport-he LOVED watching the planes take off and land.

His first boo boo in a while-fell while playing at Barnes and Noble.

We have a climbing problem....

Kicking Madisyn while on the swings...

Riding the Carousel at B.G.!

This is how Landon points-with his whole hand.

Baby yoga on the 4th of July-and of course getting his outfit dirty (after he spilled a bowl of salsa on him)

Being helpful and cleaning up the spilled salsa!
For the video-M and L on a ride we didn't know what it did and weren't expecting it to be so jerky!

Until next week =).

Also, the count down to Colorado is on!
