29 Weeks!

This has been a tough week for the wee man.  He has just been disgruntled, fussy, and just an overall big poop.  Speaking of poop, Landon doesn't do that anymore apparently, so we are taking advice on how to help things along!  We have been busy babysitting two girls this week that live in the neighborhood and their Dad works with Logan, so that has kept us pretty busy.  Today is our last day though, but I am sure we will see them around since Landon seems to enjoy being around them!
He wants everything that isn't his...this should be interesting in the toddler years

Being the center of a flower is hard work.

He has been so fussy we actually took a trip to the Dr. this morning. I was wondering if he had an ear infection.  Logan said some of the guys he works with have been sick and I have been dealing with allergies, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to be checked out just in case he had one but wasn't running the typcial fever.  He checked out just fine, just has some seasonal allergies...I still think Rusty plays a large part in his sneezing, puffy eyes, etc.  So I guess we just have to ride out this time with him and hope he gets over it before the weekend!

This week Landonious:

  • You proceed to get into everything.  You roll your way all over each room and literally play with whatever is not yours.  Just a few minutes ago, you were playing on your playmat and being unusually quiet.  I look down to see this...

Yep that is my shoe...
  • Your sleep has been crappy this past week.  Not sure why...you have been getting up between 2-3 times per night and it is killing me.  It doesn't help you now want to get up at 7 AM on top of that...can you please go back to sleep and waking up at 8 AM...thank you!
  • You LOVE stuffed animals.  I put several in your crib now with you at night so when you don't go back to sleep right away you have someone to talk to.  I watch you on the monitor and you hold them up and throw them around.  Eventually when you settle back down, you curl one under your arm and fall asleep...it is extremely cute.  Your favorite appears to be the bunny I got you for Easter.
  • Like I said you have been Mr. Fussypants this week...but the one thing that does make you happy is cuddles with Mommy.  That seems to help and make everything better, until you decide you are bored and want back down...then rinse and repeat about every 15 minutes.

  •  Looking back at these pictures you seem to pretty much have a pacifier at all times.  I think we need to lay some ground rules with that thing because you are pretty content to have it in your mouth ALL THE TIME.
  • You are sitting like a pro.  You still flop back everyone once in a while, but you have learned to catch yourself so it saves your poor little head!

  • This week's photo contest on the online board I follow was reflections.  I caught some cute photos of you.  You REALLY like to look at yourself in the mirror...I can see why, you are pretty handsome!

Finally, I have a video of you being Mr. talkative....yet another reason to keep the pacifier out!

I actually thing these videos are switched, so perhaps watch the bottom one first and then the top one!!

Ok that is all I have this week! Until next time =).

Two posts in one week!

Drama "king"

I think it would be fun to take a photography class.  Once I get done studying for my test, which takes most nap times, I want to read about photography and learn more about my camera! Now if I only had cool editing software!

Ok back to studying for my test that I take in a month.

28 Weeks!

So our wee man is 28 weeks today.  I remember being 28 weeks pregnant and thinking what a huge milestone that was since I had already been on bed rest for a month.  It is amazing how times change, now we have an almost mobile baby that is getting ready to scoot and crawl.

This week has been relatively laid back around our house after all of our running around after last week.   We took Gigi back to the airport on Tuesday after a day of learning how to iron and finishing up a few things around the house....sounds exciting right?  The rest of the week we have just hung out around the house and tried to get back into a routine.  I am watching two girls from a family that works with Logan until school starts on the 4th of September, while their Mom goes to a few classes at a local college.  It is fun, but different.  It is like a glimpse forward to how much our life will change from the baby stage to the kid phase as Landon grows. Logan has been around this week which is a nice change.  I think he really misses Landon.  He changes so quickly every week, that I can't imagine going away and then coming back to a whole new baby.  With him changing so quickly, I am going to have to take lots of videos especially when the movement milestones start coming!

I am going to post alot of pictures today, so I apologize before hand! =)

This week Landon:
  • You have been kind of a grouch.  I am hoping that those pesky teeth pop through soon.  You have been a bit of a nightmare the past few days. Lots of crying and fussing, thankfully that pacifier came at just the right time!
  • Your naps are a bit off since we kind of messed your schedule up.  They are back to being short, which is unfortunate.  I always try to leave you upstairs but these days it is harder for you to fall back asleep since you roll and move all over your crib.
  • I always enjoy going into your to get you to eat in the middle of the night so I can see which way you will wake up.  Usually you have completely flipped yourself around or are sideways in the crib kicking the side of it.  You generally love to kick anything, since it makes noise.
  • You are eating two solid meals a day.   Gigi bought us a Baby Bullet and that thing is pretty amazing for helping make your baby food.  We made you Zucchini, Butternut squash, pears, and mangoes.  It is fun being able to feed you things that we make you! The older you get, the more things we can try as well which is exciting.  I love watching your face as you try new things and try to decide if you like them or not!
Here is a video I took this week...not super exciting, but cute none the less.

Until next week. =)

27 Weeks (and a few days =)).

Ok sorry this is late!  Landon's Gigi has been in town and of course we have been busy every single day!  We have been out shopping, visiting Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and other fun things around the house.  True to fashion, we are busy busy busy every single day!  My Mom has all the pictures on her camera and I have only a few on my phone from this week of Landon.

This week Landon:
  • You are still a rolling fool.  You roll all the way across the living room to get to Rusty or anything that you shouldn't touch!  You love the flashing lights on the internet router and still love to get close to the tv.  We are supposed to be getting the tv mounted above the fireplace, but Best Buy messed up and now we don't have anything to mount yet! So until then, we will have to be extra careful with the wires in the living room.
  • With your new rolling we have also started baby proofing! We got outlet covers for all the outlets on the main level.  If you are anything like your Dad as a child, it will be a challenge to keep you safe!   So we are starting here and as you move more, we will look into other things as needed.
  • You LOVE the cats.  Lola is going to be your inspiration to crawl.  You can't roll fast enough to catch her, like Rusty.  Here is a picture of you eying Lola.

  • We took you to Colonial Williamsburg this week.  We went on a tour of the Govorner's Palace, where we had to carry you since strollers weren't allowed.  Carrying your chunky butt around for 30 minutes is a really good arm workout.  At the end of the tour, the guide wanted the entire group (about 30 people) to yell "God Save the King".  Well you apparently didn't think that was good and started crying after everyone yelled because it scared you.  You cried and cried until Gigi gave you back to me and we got outside.  I think you were just overly tired and it just pushed you over the edge.  Here is a picture of you and Gigi after you took a short snooze and a bottle...a much happier wee man.

Ok that is all I have for this week! Until...well, Thursday =).

26 Weeks/6 months old!

Today my sweet little boy is 6 months old...where does the time go?  I was thinking back yesterday and realize the first few months are a big sleepy blur and the last 3 months we have been busy moving, traveling, etc.  I am thankful we are finally settled.  Landon is just at that perfect age where everything is new and exciting.  He loves to just get out of the house and do new things.  When we leave he is pretty content just sit and look around at all the new things and people.  When he sits in the cart now, I am old news.  He leans around me and whips his head around just taking in all the people and new things to look at.  I am hoping we find alot of fun things to do this fall with some of the new ladies we have met here.  I am so looking forward to fall walks with all these trees, pumpkins, apple picking, and even football! I am hoping Mr. Logan will be around for alot of these things too!  So bring on the cooler weather Virginia, I am sick of the 90's and 100% humidity!

Landon this week/month:
  • You eat two meals a day.  I need to keep better track of how "much" you are eating in ounces, since I am sure the Dr. will want to know on Friday.  You eat breakfast, usually a fruit, occasionally cereal and then dinner, which is a veggie and a fruit.  Lately, your new favorite is pears and mango mixed.  We made the decision "mistake" to try Plum Organics, they were on sale at the store and you devour every single package.  They seems to have a greater variety of mixtures and veggies than Gerber or other baby food brands.  I REALLY need to get back to making your baby food.

Messy face!
  • You HATE having your face wiped after eating.  You grimace and whine and shake your head.  I can already see we will have problems with this the older you get!
  • You are still nursing 6-7 times per day.  We met our first goal of 6 months and have set a new goal of 1 year! I hope we can make it.  Nursing you at night before you go to sleep is one of my favorite times of day.
  • You have been SUPER backed up...poor baby.  We have been giving you pureed prunes and that seems to help.  I am hoping your little system sorts itself out soon and this won't be an on going problem.  I do have to admit the grunts and faces you make are rather entertaining though.
  • You are the king of all flirts.  Everywhere we go people talk to you and you just smile and laugh and talk to them.  You bat your eyes, especially at the old ladies, and duck your head into my shoulder.  It is rather ridiculous actually.  Daily from random people, I always get asked if he is always this happy.  I generally answer most of the time, but then quickly think back to our first three months of constant crying and am so thankful your true personality was able to come out after your colic and reflux started getting better!
  • You have been showing more interest in rolling the last few days.  You will roll on to your side and then grab and play with the toys.  You even once rolled over to your stomach when I wasn't looking...typical lol.
  • Just yesterday you started scooting backwards on your blanket in your room.  So I do kind of worry crawling won't be too far behind.  I think you will either crawl sooner rather than later or not really at all.  You LOVE to stand when we hold you up, so I think you might just skip it and head right to standing/walking.  Kind of like your Dad with his frog hopping.
  • You still don't have any teeth.  You are a drooling fool and are constantly chewing on everything.  I do think your amber teething necklace seems to be helping.  You are much less whiny, but I think that might be because you finished up your growth spurt.
  • You sleeping is doing pretty well.  You still wake up once a night usually, between 4-5 AM.  At that point though, it is almost 9-10 hours since you last ate, so I don't mind feeding you.  You usually stay awake for 20 minutes or so and then fall back asleep alone.  Depending upon the morning you may wake up around 7 AM, but I don't get you unless you are hysterical (which is rarely).  Then you usually sleep until 8-8:30.  Other days you don't wake up at all after your feeding and then sleeping until 8:00.  On the rare day you can sleep until 9 AM, but I don't like to do that because your nap times get all off during the day.
  • You nap at 10 AM for about 1.5-2 hours and then again around 2 pm for 1.5-2 hours.  Depending on the day you skip your third nap, which makes for a monstery Landon in the evening and then other days you will take short snooze in your swing for 30 minutes, which makes for a more enjoyable Landon until bedtime at 7.
  • Every nap and night time, I give you a pacifier to just chew on because I am still convinced you would like one.  Well last night, you spit it out from me, but then grabbed it and tried for about 5 minutes to get it in your mouth.  Well once you did, you KEPT it in there.  You even slept with it for several hours.  It even fell out and you found it and put it back in.  To say I am shocked is an understatement, little boy.  To make this even more interesting, I woke up this morning to you having it in your mouth AGAIN! So we will see if this keeps up...

See him holding it in there...also note the side sleeping!

Here are just some fun pictures I took over the last week.

Last but not least-2 videos!

So there you have it.  A more detailed recap of Landon at 6 months.  Happy 6 months my little boy, we love you more than you can ever imagine.  Having a baby has changed our family so much, but we would never have it any other way! We love being your parents.

Until next week =).

25 Weeks!

We had a busy week this past week with Rere being in town!  We were busy almost everyday and Landon was a trooper through it all.  We carried him around from 10 AM to 4 PM most days without as much of a major meltdown most of those days; it was pretty impressive.  Oh course we had some whiny moments, but overall he was a champ about venturing out and exploring Williamsburg.  So let me share some pictures first of her visit:

Our visit to Jamestown

Looking out onto the James River

In Jamestown Fort ha ha

Cooling down in a replica of the church from Jamestown Fort

Jamestown Island

Yorktown Beach
So as you can see we had a busy week.  This doesn't even include all the things we (Rere) did around the house.  She hung pictures, arranged the kitchen, hung curtains in Landon's room, and helped with the yardwork! So see busy busy busy.  It was so much fun to have her here and we hope she can come back soon!

This past week has been a big one for Landon on the developmental scale!

  • You have started rolling from you back to your side/almost belly.  You still won't roll all the way over, but I know it is coming.  The sad part is, is you often roll around so you can see the TV lol....we are going to need to not have that on so frequently after the Olympics end!
  • You have been eating two solid meals a day.  I still don't think you eat alot of solids, but really at this point in time solids are just for learning how to eat, not so much nutrition.
  • Your sleep at night is allover the place.  Some nights you can sleep until 4 am or later, then others you are up at 2 am and 6 am.  I can never tell if you are really hungry at 2 am, but you always eat off both sides at that time, so I don't mind feeding you.
  • You have had some fussy days mixed in with good days lately.  I think you are midgrowth spurt since you do seem to be eating more during the day and devouring your solids.
  • I started having you wear an amber teething necklace.  I will update on this as you wear it to see if it helps!
  • You have started grabbing at EVERYTHING! My hair, face, necklaces, clothes, pretty much anything in front of you, you grab at.  So people who wear glasses...WATCH OUT! They won't be safe on your face!
  • When I am eating or drinking, you expect to be eating or drinking also.  Yesterday while we were out to lunch, every time I put my sandwich to my mouth you would open yours like I should give you some....same with my drink.  We started giving you a sippy cup with just a bit of water so you are enjoying learning how to use that also.
  • You love your toys now.  We always have something for you to play with.  You can rattle toys, throw them around, and reach out in front of you to grab it.  I am thinking we should get you some bath toys since you are even grabbing the wash cloth to play with in the tub as well!
  • Sitting has kind of taken a backseat to all these other new things this week, so we need to get back to working on that!
  • I read about other babies your age who are starting to crawl and I am perfectly fine with you mostly being stationary and not showing any interest in full movement.  You certainly like to kick your legs and throw your arms around, so I know once you get the hang of it the days of just you on the floor are OVER.  We will need a baby jail. =)
Ok time for pictures/movies:

Chewing on Sophie in his new high chair at the table.

See his little hand on the crib rail, that is how he falls asleep every night.

Playing on the floor with his new toys-the downside to this is the dog hair.  I actually think he is allergic to Rusty because after being on the floor he rubs his eyes-not sure what to do about that.

Taking a snooze in the stroller while Rere and I explored Historic Jamestown!

First video is of Landon playing on the couch.  Like I said, he REALLY enjoys toys these days.  The next one is him learning how to rattle his other little toy in his room!

Until next week!

24 Weeks!

Landon is 24 weeks old today-that is ALMOST 6 MONTHS! Yikes...it is scary and impressive he has been alive almost a half of a year ha ha.  Yay for Logan and I for not messing him up too terribly...yet =).

Rere is in town visiting us this week! Logan is out and about, so it is nice to have a visitor for Landon and I!  We have already been extremely busy!

Monday before Rere got in, Landon and I went to the pool. That was such a task to get myself, Landon, the stroller/carseat, diaper bag, towels, the pool floaty, and whatever else I need into the pool....for all of 45 minutes ha ha.  So I think I need to just take the necessities and then go! So more to work on.  We will all be venturing to the pool and perhaps the beach tomorrow or the next few days!

Rere has been helping me get the rest of the house put together. She was the yard work master...she mowed, trimmed, and pulled a bazillion weeds.  She also helped me decide if a giant plant was a weed or a plant! It really is sad when you can't tell.  We finally placed all the pictures in the house and we are almost settled.  This move was really much more time consuming than our move from Hawaii to Tennessee.  I am lucky that I have Rere to come out and help us get settled.  Who knows how long all the pictures and decorations would have sat around!  Here are some pictures of the front of the house and the lower level....the upstairs will come next week!

Flowers and now weed-free front area!

From entry way into living room-we will eventually mount the tv above the fireplace and put up the surround sound!

Kitchen/office area...AKA the breakfast nook!
Next week I will put up the upstairs pictures.  We are still working on the guest room and hanging stuff in Landon's room.  So check back for those!

Landon has been a bit of a mess the past week.  I think we are coming into a growth spurt because he is back to being a stage 5 clinger and rather fussy! He also has been falling asleep at random which is VERY out of the ordinary for our wee man.
Passed out sleeping on me after just being up an hour!
We are still working on sitting! He is doing pretty well.  He gets a little overly excited and then flings backwards and flops down.  Logan thinks if I let him hit his head he will learn not to do that...I don't think so lol.  Here he is working on his new skill!
His head REALLY isn't as large as it appears in this picture!
Peanut is a friendly little man.  He loves to be talked to by anyone at the stores and just soaks up the attention.  He thinks Rere is pretty funny and will just sit and laugh and laugh at her.
Sorry bad quality of an iphone photo!
Another big thing we discovered this week with Landon is he is allergic to SWEET POTATOES! Remember in last weeks blog how I talked about him over eating or having a stomach bug...well turns out sweet potatoes induce that reaction in our wee man.  We fed him sweet potatoes last night and as I was nursing him to put him down for bed, the vomiting ensued.  Poor little man threw up for about 2 hours ago.  We had to change him twice, change his sheets, and go through loads of blankets and burp clothes, but he eventually fell asleep and still only woke up once and got up at at 8.    So no more sweet potatoes for Landon!  Poor buddy!

Ok super long day...until next week!
